Weekly Green Tip Choose British flowers
Thanks to Kathleen for this tip! Supermarkets have the monopoly in sales of fresh flowers but less than 10% are British. Look out for the tiny Union Jack symbol on the packaging. If you buy from a florist, ask which flowers are home grown. To buy British is to support our own growers, they tend to last longer and have an amazing scent as well as avoiding the air miles to reach the shops.
