We value all of our children and young people at Holy Trinity Northwood, recognising that they represent the church of the future. Our young people attend a variety of local primary and secondary schools and we have good connections with many.
However, we have special connection with our local Church of England Schools, Holy Trinity Primary and Bishop Ramsey Secondary. Many children in our church community attend these schools and their families value the link we have with them. Church attendance can be used as part of the application for both of these schools.
In the past we have found that not all families are aware of what is required to apply under the faith admission critera (and sometimes find this information out too late). So, in the interest of fairness and transparency to all our families and young people, we are taking steps, in partnership with both schools to make this clearer:
Holy Trinity Primary's faith Admission Criteria requires:
At least one parent/carer to attend Holy Trinity at least 2 times a month for the last 2 years (and at the time of application).
Bishop Ramsey Secondary's faith Admissions Criteria requires:
Regular attendance (in person) of at least one parent/carer 3 times a month or more, consistently for the previous 3 years at the time of application (year 5).
Noting the difference between the two schools, we strongly encourage parents to start thinking about this as early as possible and to establish a regular pattern of attending worship at Holy Trinity Church well ahead of the minimum period required.
NEW Practice:
We have been encouraged to adopt a practice of asking families to sign in at each service they attend. Each parent/carer must do this themselves and in person.
We started to use this system after February 1/2 term 2022.
