Hafdis Bennett
Volcanic series
New Zealand og Island
19. may – 28. july 2024
Malerierne var et projekt, der startet, da hun endte i New Zealand over to år under Covid.

Volcanic series
New Zealand and Iceland
19 May – 28 July 2024
Hafdis Bennett is an Icelandic artist who has lived and worked in Denmark before settling in the UK. She is a longstanding member of the Anglo-Danish Society.
The paintings were a project started when stuck in New Zealand for over two years during Covid, as NZ closed their borders and therefore, she had no way of returning to the UK.
Realising that despite greatly different flora and fauna in her homeland Iceland and New Zealand, there were also remarkable similarities as well, both countries being of volcanic origin.
Painting these paintings, were a process of highlighting the similarities, and to compare the landscapes, some looking like they could be from the same place, the colours are the same, the landscape related but they are in fact from the opposite ends of the earth!
Hafdis Bennett invtes to private-view Wednesday 5 June at 16.00-18.00
