Jazzgudstjeneste med Søren Baun Trio feat. Kaspar Vadsholt & Jonas Dueet

I forbindelse med Copenhagen Jazz Festival byder vi velkommen til Jazzgudstjeneste på Kirkeskibet, hvor præst Ida Fonsbøl står for dagens ord og Søren Baun Trio feat. Kaspar Vadsholt & Jonas Due står for musikken.

Trioen er samlet af pianist og sanger Søren Baun og spiller udvalgte sange med dybde og budskab fra USA og England og et par på dansk.

Sangene har Søren Baun taget til sig ved mange musikalske kirkelige sammenhænge: fra gudstjenester og højtider til gospel- og jazzkoncerter.

Stikord i musikken er således kærlighed, håb, eftertanke, årstiderne, lys og mørke. Trioen leverer deres egne frie fortolkninger med højt til loftet og hvor klang, samspil og improvisation er omdrejningspunkter.

Søren Baun er pianist, sanger, arrangør og sangskriver, og har optrådt på store og små scener fra Manhattan og Madrid til Kairo og København. Som solist har han udgivet musik med BAUN (Beginnings, 2024), Baun On Beatles og Acoustic Lounge med anmelder roser tul følge, airplay på P5, P3 og P8 Jazz, 3 millioner streams og cder til salg i Japan.

Jonas Due er en fremtrædende dansk trompetist og komponist fra Københavns jazzmiljø, kendt som medstifter af jazz- og fusionsbandet OTOOTO. Derudover har han spillet en lang række koncerter som fast mand i Andreas Odbjergs band. 

Kaspar Vadsholt er en af landets mest erfarne og efterspurgte bassister indenfor jazz og groove-orienteret musik. Han spiller med på talrige plader med bl.a. Sinne Eeg, Bentzon Brotherhood, Claus Waitløw Quartet og selvfølgelig med DR Big Band, hvor han har været fast bassist i mange år.

Welcome to the Jazz Service at the Church Ship, where Pastor Ida Fonsbøl will deliver today’s message and the music is performed by Søren Baun Trio featuring Kaspar Vadsholt and Jonas Due.

The trio was brought together by pianist and singer Søren Baun and performs selected songs of depth and meaning from the USA and England, along with a few in Danish.

Søren Baun has embraced these songs through many years of musical and church-related settings: from services and holidays to gospel and jazz concerts.

Themes in the music include love, hope, reflection, the seasons, light and darkness. The trio presents their own free interpretations with plenty of room for expression, where sound, interplay, and improvisation are at the heart of the performance.

Søren Baun is a pianist, singer, arranger, and songwriter who has performed on both large and small stages from Manhattan and Madrid to Cairo and Copenhagen. As a solo artist, he has released music with BAUN (Beginnings, 2024), Baun On Beatles, and Acoustic Lounge, receiving critical acclaim, airplay on P5, P3, and P8 Jazz, more than 3 million streams, and CD sales in Japan.

Jonas Due is a prominent Danish trumpeter and composer from Copenhagen’s jazz scene, known as co-founder of the jazz and fusion band OTOOTO. In addition, he has performed numerous concerts as a permanent member of Andreas Odbjerg’s band.

Kaspar Vadsholt is one of Denmark’s most experienced and sought-after bassists within jazz and groove-oriented music. He has appeared on numerous recordings with artists such as Sinne Eeg, Bentzon Brotherhood, Claus Waidtløw Quartet, and of course the DR Big Band, where he has been the resident bassist for many years.
