There is real peace to be found by ending your day in prayer and reflection. Whether your faith is a burning torch or a flickering candle, you are welcome to join us in the quiet of night prayer and the presence of the Holy One.
Night prayer or compline is an ancient rite of the church that crosses many traditions. Facebook Compline at Nine started during the first UK lockdown in the spring of 2020. A group of people from the UK and around the world prayed regularly together and formed an online community. This group continues to be hosted by the Christian community at Romsey Abbey in Hampshire.
Join us from your own homes if and when you can, it is a tremendous encouragement to know that you are joining others in prayer.
We use the compline rite from the Church of England. You can find the words to compline in a variety of places on the CofE website but perhaps most accessible is to download the Time to Pray App:
Whenever you choose to pray you are welcome to join this community and to pray Compline at 9pm in your own time zone by joining the recorded version.
What you say isn't as important as the intention of your heart. We pray together for peace and for the healing of the nations.
