Mental Health Awareness Week – Movement for Mental Health

Being active is important for our mental health and here at St Wulfram’s we are proud to support the Mental Health Foundation this Mental Health Awareness Week (13 – 19 May) Here at St Wulfram’s we plan to participate in the following way.

Thursday,16 May - 4:00pm, Chair Yoga at St Wulfram’s Church

Stefan Cunnington from Active Balance Yoga will be delivering this yoga session for us.  This session is suitable for all and its free!  Yoga can bring about long-lasting positive change to both your mental and physical health.

What is chair yoga? - Chair yoga is a general term for modified yoga poses that are done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible1 to people who cannot stand, lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions, or want a quick break from office work.

Many of the basic body mechanics of the individual postures remain the same. Just like with traditional mat yoga, chair yoga moves include versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, etc.

The session starts at 4:00pm and will last for approximately 45 minutes.  For more information, please email ghcentre@stwulframs.com or call 01476 561342.

We want to encourage all of those interested to attend this free session.

Friday 17 May 10:00am – 12:00noon, Walk from Grantham House and back. Followed by coffee and biscuits.

Meet at Grantham House from 9:30am and set off at 10:00am through the town and then back along the river Witham, through Sedgewick Meadows, Wyndham Park and then back to Grantham House for coffee. This will be a leisurely walk giving time for conversation and enjoyment of local surroundings.
