A recital for viola and piano inspired by Thea Musgrave's short piece for solo viola 'Light at the end of the tunnel', written during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
Featuring music for viola (Josh Hayward, BBC Symphony Orchestra) and piano (Matthew Fletcher) about hope and transformation from places of darkness and sorrow.
Programme includes Britten’s Lachrymae, Shostakovich’s Viola Sonata, Musgrave’s ‘Light at the end of the tunnel’, and Brahms’ Viola Sonata in F minor.
