Szymon Jakubowski, born in Poland in 1981, is a pianist, organist and improviser. Since 2001 he has lived in Berlin (Germany) where he studied piano, organ and improvisation at the Hanns Eisler University of Music and University of the Arts Berlin. For many years, as a laureate of piano and organ improvisation competitions, he has actively performed concerts which are mostly based on classical improvisation.
In addition to his concert activities, Szymon Jakubowski has many years of educational experience. He is currently teaching practical piano skills at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre and organ improvisation at the University of Arts in Berlin.
A light lunch will be held in the Cathedral Halls following the recital, offering soup, bread, tea and coffee. All are welcome.
